Profile

Kazkommertsbank is one of the largest private banks in CIS and the market leader by total assets in Kazakhstan. The Bank provides a wide range of banking and other financial services to corporate and retail clients across the region.

Headquartered in Almaty, the Bank serves its retail clients through a network of 186 branches as at the end of 2008 in Kazakhstan under the KAZKOM logo. In addition, Kazkommertsbank has international subsidiaries in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.

With over 16 years in operation, Kazkommertsbank is the dominant provider of banking services and other financial products to large and medium-sized corporations across all sectors of the Kazakh economy.
The Bank’s 7,297 employees across the region are devoted to the task of maintaining the Bank’s position as the premier financial services company in Kazakhstan based on superior understanding of our clients' financial needs and the ability to meet these through the highest quality of service.

Strategy

In view of the slowdown of Kazakh economy, significant turbulence and uncertainty in the global financial system and worsening economic conditions in key markets, Kazkommertsbank is focusing on asset qualtiy and liquidity management, whilst continuing to maintain operating efficiency.

Asset quality

Kazkommertsbank is focused on working with its existing clientele and on asset qualtiy of its loan portfolio. The Bank concentrate its efforts on problem loans on case-by-case basis in line with cooperation with clients to help them improve their operations and increase the recovery rate.

 
Liquidity management

The Bank is going to concentrate on the domestic sources of funding: the main objective is to maintain corporate client base and retail deposits market share. The Bank does not have large-ticket foreign debt maturing in 2010.

 
Cost control

One of the Bank’s major objectives is to keep its expenses low. As of YE2009, Kazkommertsbank was the most efficient Bank among its peers.

Products & Services

Corporate banking

Kazkommertsbank has been servicing corporate clients in Kazakhstan for over 15 years and is a domestic market leader in corporate lending  with a 25.9 per cent market share as at the end of 2008.

The needs of corporate clients are met through a wide range to services including trade and structured finance products, project finance, e-banking and asset management services, as well as short-term credit facilities and other general banking services. 

As at 31 December 2008 the Bank’s total net customer loan portfolio amounted to US$ 14,850 million with corporate deposits to US$ 5,925 million.

Retail banking

Kazkommertsbank possesses one of the leading retail banking franchises in Kazakhstan with a 17.7 per cent share of the retail deposit market and 13.3 per cent share of retail loans as at the end of 2008.

The Bank offers to its retail customers a comprehensive range of banking products including residential mortgages, consumer loans, debit and credit cards and deposit and current accounts.

Kazkommertsbank enjoys a good reputation in Kazakhstan for quality of service, reliability and professionalism.
