Halyk and Qazkom started integration of ATMs
Almaty, 10 July 2017 – JSC Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan and JSC Kazkommertsbank started integration of the ATMs, namely starting from July 10, 2017 additional fees for cash withdrawals have been cancelled for both Halyk and Qazkom cardholders. As a result Halyk and Qazkom customers can use both Halyk and Qazkom ATMs for cash withdrawals with no difference.
As of 1 June 2017 there have been 2,367 ATMs of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, of which 559 ATMs with cash-in, while Kazkommertsbank had 2,292 ATMs, of which 465 ATMs with cash-in function. Today, six million cardholders are serviced by Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan and more than two million cardholders are serviced by Kazkommertsbank, meaning that the most economically active population of Kazakhstan shall benefit from the integration of ATM networks of both banks. From now on every second ATM in Kazakhstan will be the ATM of Halyk+Qazkom.
Despite active development of non-cash payments, cash withdrawals via ATMs are still one of the most popular banking operations in Kazakhstan. According to the official statistics , only in April 2017 17,6 million of cash withdrawals for KZT 683,2 bn have been done by the Kazakhstan residents.
